UPDATED: LeBron James Owns ESPN
Im sure you’ve heard. LeBron James spent some time in Las Vegas recently. Arash Markazi was also in Las Vegas around the same time. Arash writes for ESPNlosangeles.com. Apparently the two crossed paths while in Sin City and when Arash returned home he did what he does. He wrote a story. He wrote about the things he saw while in the company of LeBron James in Las Vegas. Arash’s story was posted at 9:40 am on July 28th. At about 9:41 am the same day Arash’s story was pulled by ESPN editors. Read more

ESPN’s SportsNation just premiered the newest DJ Steve Porter music video, “Press Hop 2“. This time Porter remixes “The Decision” and the Tiger Woods press conference with extra little gems in there for you to chuckle at. As always, it’s well done.
My only gripe is that Porter introduced the new video wearing a “Beat L.A.” shirt. He’s obviously in denial.
R.I.P. Star Tours v1.0

Today marks a significant entry in history. Star Tours, at Disneyland, will send it’s final passengers on their first flight to the forest moon of Endor this evening.
The popular Disneyland attraction will be closed from July 27th until sometime in 2011 as the 23 year old ride gets a complete makeover. The enhancements will include new high-def projectors, new motion simulators, 3-D effects, and most intriguingly… NEW DESTINATIONS.
Thats right, come 2011, space travelers won’t be limited to The Endor Express. When the attraction re-opens our trusty pilot Rex and his StarSpeeder 3000 1000 will be making new stops at differnt ports-of-call. Exactly what destinations will be added or sticky situations we might encounter remain a mystery.
But, while the creative forces of Walt Disney Imagineering and Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic are hard at work preparing the new ride system, speculation will continue to grow as the “Star Tours v2.0″ re-launch date approaches. Might we find ourselves on Tatooine, Hoth, Coruscant? I guess we’ll find out soon enough. I’ve Got A Very Good Feeling About This!
Watch the cool Star Tours v2.0 announcement video below.
P.S. When Star Tours first opened in 1987 Disneyland remained open for 60 straight hours to celebrate! I hope we can expect something equally as epic this time around.

We couldn’t resist.
LeBron James – King? Detractor? Traitor? Driven? Genius? Whatever your outlook on LeBron may be we can all agree that #23 #6 demands to be noticed! Will we collectively “witness” his ascension or his demise? Either way, this clever rendition of “God Save The Queen” as made famous by the Sex Pistols pulls behind it a slurry of social basketball commentary. What do you think it means?
Both tee’s are on sale now!

Happy Birthday Disneyland! On July 17th, 1955 Walt Disney invited the first guests in to his Magic Kingdom. I think it’s safe to say that things have worked out pretty well since then. What’s your favorite Disneyland memory of the past fifty-five years?
VIDEO: Star Wars Subway Cars

For [their] latest mission, [Improv Everywhere] staged a reenactment of the first Princess Leia / Darth Vader scene from Star Wars on a New York City subway car. The white walls and sliding doors on the train reminded [them] of the rebel ship from the movie, and [they] thought it would be fun to see how people would react to a surprise appearance by the iconic characters. [They] spread out the actors along the train line, staging it so they would enter the right car at the right time. Enjoy the video first and then go behind-the-scenes with the photos and report at IMPROV EVERYWHERE.
LeBron James Triangle X Ball Don’t Lie
Brian Spaeth is an actor/writer/producer living in Los Angeles, but really, he’s from Cleveland. He likes jokes, basketball and snakes. He blogs at Brian’s Thoughts About Airplanes.
I’ve wanted to write this since Thursday night, but my blog is currently a mess of backward-English nonsense and this doesn’t fit what’s happening over there at the moment. Thanks to Trey for letting me spout the following, which I’m sure has been said elsewhere both better and nine-thousand times.
Still, as a Clevelander and I feel I have something to add. This LeBron-to-Miami thing was a triangular failure and I’ve got to get it off my chest. Some disclaimers: Read more

With the Lakers Championship, “The Decision”, subsequent LeBron jersey burning parties, and now the World Cup (congrats to Spain and Spain-ards everywhere) out of the way what’s left to talk about this summer?
We’re not sure either, but, somehow we got to discussing the merits of the great debate: Team Edward vs. Team Jacob.
Needless to say we couldn’t come to an agreement. And, so, the argument rages on. What we did agree on is this: If vampires and werewolves are to battle against one another for world domination and/or the love and companionship of a chick who looks like she’s ready to cut herself if you don’t pay enough attention to her we think Eddie Munster and Bela Lugosi would be way better team captains.
What do you think – Team Bela or Team Eddie?

By going to Miami LBJ has contradicted almost everything he has ever said about winning a championship. For years all he’s talked about is building a team in Cleveland, being loyal to his home town and not wanting to be a ring chaser.

It seems that Super Mario Bros. will never cease to inspire people.
This latest act of gaming-inspired coolness has transposed entire levels of the game onto a sidewalk curb. It’s not simple graffiti – these levels animate and move just like the real thing.

When G.I. Joe invaded store shelves in 1964, he was basically a glorified Ken doll created to appeal to boys who weren’t down with settling for Barbie’s hardly-macho boy-toy. G.I. Joe quickly became more than just an Army doll, he launched a franchise like none that had existed before! That one G.I. Joe character was eventually released in numerous uniforms to be prepared for battle in any scenario!
In 1982 , G.I. Joe reached new heights when Hasbro decided to expand the brand to a whole team of elite soldiers who would each have their own field of expertise. There were Army Rangers, Marines, scuba divers, Military Police, Astronauts, Firefighters, techies and unique to this collection of soldiers- a ninja! And not just any ninja, but Snake Eyes! He perhaps is the most well-known of any character in the Joe universe, thanks greatly due to his appearances in the media formats that accompanied the toy line.

Greg Peltz X Star Wars Portraits
Artist Greg Peltz has been receiving plenty of attention, thanks to his Ye Olden Days themed Star Warscharacter portraits, and rightly so, these images easily fall into the impressive basket. Original and captivating, these make-overs are a fascinating take on George Lucas’ iconic sci-fi / fantasy creations, proving Star Wars is an ongoing source of creative inspiration. Featuring C-3PO, Boba Fett, Chewbacca and Darth Vader, this series isn’t from a Galaxy far, far away, rather it has been lifted from a place where the Buffalo roam and gentlemen bow in the company of Princess Leia.
