UPDATE: after watching the second trailer a few more times Im fairly confident that I Samuel L Jackson’s voice in the background. Could he possibly be “The Boss”? I hope so.
We’re fairly confident that this news is spread smooth but we could help but throw in our 2 cents. February 19th marks the debut of the Robert Rodriguez directed, Bruce Willis cameo-ing, Kobe Bryant starring, Nike Basketball production of “The Black Mamba”. You can even RSVP to the online film premiere from Nike Basketball’s facebook page (you know we signed up).
Trailer #1
So what do we think? Well, despite the focus and hype being away from what really matters (winning a third straight NBA Championship) we’re freakin’ pumped, duh! While on the surface it may just be an elaborate pitch to sell some Zoom Kobe VI’s it really illustrates Kobe’s underlying demand on and off the court. How? Well, if he wasn’t the best on the court none of these things would be possible off the court. It wouldn’t be worth the money or the reputation of those involved. So basically, this again proves Kobe’s dominance over not only the world of basketball but the world of Hollywood as well.
Trailer #2
February 19th also marks the day Kobe Bryant will be immortalized via hand and foot prints in wet cement outside the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Kobe will be the first athlete to ever receive the honor. Oh, yeah, February 19th is also All-Star weekend. It is strange world we live in but we wouldn’t want it any other way.
Our friends at The Lakers Nation have the World Premiere details.
