UPDATE: Buffalo Wild Wings in Moreno Valley is scheduled to open on Monday, March 21, 2011. As usual, the first 100 customers will get FREE wings for a year (I think)!
Back in the 90′s when it seemed Starbucks was taking over the world with prolific expansion it seemed our small suburban Sunnymead, California was the last place on earth to get the coffee franchise. I remember when the first Starbucks finally opened; it was considered a joyous day. We felt we were on the map so-to-speak! Of course, now, I’ve lost track of how many of the yuppy hang-outs there are in 5 mile radius. The point was, our small, inland community hadn’t been over looked.
Jump ahead to 2006 – I was living in Orlando, Florida when I was first introduced to Buffalo Wild Wings. Some of my co-workers and roommates raved of the quality and value. I gave it a try and was hooked right away! Going to B-Dubs became a weekly activity of ours. We had some good times chowing down on Tuesdays for .50 cents a wing.
I moved back to southern California in 2008 where a lack of Buffalo Wild Wings establishments effectively ended my relationship with the flavorful chicken wings of BWW. Sure, I could’ve driven to Murrieta or Victoria Gardens but that wasn’t/isn’t convenient.
The fate of our small town is on course to change yet again. The other day I was driving through town when I spotted the sign pictured above. My glimpse was so brief that I had to turn around and drive by again to confirm I wasn’t seeing things. I saw right the first time. Buffalo Wild Wings is opening a new restaurant in Moreno Valley!
My excitement is obvious. I mean, sure, the food is good but what I truly miss most about my Buffalo Wild Wings hey-days in Florida was the hanging out with friends. Now that there’s gonna be one so close by the prospect of a new era of B-Dubs hey-days can begin. So, if you’re my friend and are reading this I hope you’re ready!
