LAKERS vs SUNS GM.2 (recap)

lakers7After predicting that the Phoenix Suns would be the Lakers toughest competition of the post season I now see that one of two things is possible. Either I was completely dead wrong (which would not be the first time) or the Lakers are playing at a level that no other team in the payoffs is at. We all know that the Suns are the highest scoring team in the NBA but little can be said for their defense and that is exactly what we are seeing here.

The Lakers are completely dominating with their field goal percentages. We are shooting 10% better then the Suns in front of the 3-point line and 15% better from behind the line. Everything seems to be clicking for us in regards to our… offense, grabbing 12 offensive rebounds, and 32 assists. Andrew Bynum was 5-5 from the field while Shannon Brown, Lamar Odom, and Jordan Farmar missed a combined 5 shots and scored a combined 36 points! Of course we all know that was simply the usual “lucky” game for Lamar Odom though.

Kobe did not dominate the Lakers scoring aspect in this game instead he did dominate the assist column dishing out 13 assists. That performance was slightly muted though by that of Pau Gasol who seemed to literally school Amare Stoudemire in every sense of the game. With every fade away, jump shot, drive, and pass Gasol showed that Amare is completely out matched. The Lakers will now be tested going into Arizona home of Los Suns, where the Suns will have a MAJOR home crowd behind them. It is good to know that Kobe has had many big games in Phoenix and is playing at a level to have many more.

6 more wins until another Laker Championship…
